Often times there there will be an inversion effect that occurs in the Carson Valley. The weather will be reasonable at the top of the mountains, and a cloud layer will drop down near the ground in the valley. The valley floor will be extremely cold and foggy, and everything will frost over. As I was driving around the foothills looking for possible photo subjects I came upon this beautiful buck and his harem. He stood out beautifully in the morning light surrounded by snow and frosted sage brush. I was fortunate to have him pose so majestically. That is my kind of hunting.
