As I drove past this meadow in Yellowstone National Park, my attention was immediately drawn to the large bison grazing near the river. I stopped to asses the scene, and was quickly moved by the feeling. This was a classic, old school black & white. Leaving my digital SLR and long lens behind, I ventured out with my 4×5 inch film camera and one film holder containing 2 sheets of black & white print film. The river leading into the scene, the dry meadow grasses, the pine covered hillside, the lone bison balanced by the full moon, the dark sky above. This is classic old school simplicity, captured in a way that communicates, and does justice to, the mood of this special place we promise to preserve forever. Enjoy the view, and be there!
