A note from the artist:
I dedicated this painting to Andrew Wyeth. Throughout the years, he has been the most profound singular influence on me as an artist and as a person. I have learned from him not only how to paint but how to see the world and how to understand myself. Unfortunately, we never met. In this painting you can see and hear an echo of Wyeth’s painting “Soaring”, which shows buzzards circling over a New England landscape. During his lifetime Andrew Wyeth went against the prevailing winds of fashion in the world of art and always remained faithful to his own true self. To me, more than anything else, this painting is about Freedom…
‘Alexander Volkov’
Alexander Volkov has a personal affinity for the beauty of the four seasons. His art reflects the best of each season through his lens. Living in New England has bolstered his appreciation for the changes in nature throughout the year. You will notice when perusing his collection of the seasons, he demonstrates his fascination with the way the light moves through a room or through leaves on a tree. In person the dynamic elements of the light transition within the painting at different times of the day and throughout the year.
