“As the dawn breaks, the north-western landscape awakens to a short Winter’s day.” – Alexander Volkov
The collections that the Marcus Ashley Gallery curates are a mix of inspirational, historic, and fascinating. Among the great works that fill the spacious walkways, the gallery also has Alexander Volkov art on display.
Alexander Volkov’s first brush with art was back in 1981 when he showcased original work alongside the “Brotherhood of Experimental Arts,” a collective of unconventional art groups once active in Leningrad, Russia. As a self-taught artist, Volkov’s ability to create true-to-life paintings is commendable.
In Daybreak, we see his classic take on the changing seasons as winter casts a shroud of snow. Pine trees stand tall and proud against the nippy air as icy waters flow silently on adventures of their own. The brief arrival of the sun is met with a riot of gradient hues that light up the sky. Not too long after, the sun decides to let nightfall take over once again.
Daybreak will add warmth and character to any space. Anyone gazing at the piece will come away feeling humbled by nature’s grandeur and beauty. To get your hands on this giclée on canvas, simply visit or contact the Marcus Ashley Gallery.
