“Lazy summer days provide the opportunity to reflect on times gone by or as Springsteen likes to call it the “Glory Days.” So is it true that every winemaker’s goal is to create the most glorious wine of his career, every single time. Raise a toast and drink in your own “Taste of Glory.” – Eric Christensen
Travelers and out-of-towners always stop by the Marcus Ashley Gallery when they revisit the lovely Lake Tahoe. The patrons have created a homely yet grand space for some of the best art in the world. Viewers can spend hours admiring the exhibits on display, particularly the Eric Christensen art.
In Taste of Glory, the artist raises a toast to the fruits of a winemaker’s labor. Christensen paints a limited-edition wine from the Sherwin Family Vineyards, etched in gold and encrusted with crystals of the American flag. It sits next to a classic Sherwin Family Vineyards bottle amidst a sea of fruit pairings. The pop of green foliage and shadowplay in the backdrop create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that will draw viewers.
Christensen captures the nuances of light as it washes over the bottles and long-stemmed glasses. Attention to detail can be seen in the reflection cast by the limited-edition bottle on the windowpane. The artist truly is a virtuoso of photorealistic art, as seen in Taste of Glory.
