In Standing Tall, Christensen gives us a glimpse of a wine tasting in session with the Napa Valley in the background. A bottle each of Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux dominates the scene with 2 long-stemmed glasses filled halfway with wine. Pears, apples, and a lush bouquet of red berries lend a lovely contrast to the dark hues of the wine bottles.

Christensen delicately layers paint one hue at a time until each element springs to life with color and definition. He achieves a flawless reimagination of this scene that underscores a celebratory theme of toasting to one’s best self.
