“The forecast for Spring is definitely… A Flavorable Outlook!” – Eric Christensen
So much to do, so little time. This is how Lake Tahoe visitors describe North America’s largest alpine basin. The Sierras beckon hikers, climbers, and trailblazers. Gondolas suspended from cables invite sky viewers. Emerald Bay summons adventurers. And, the Marcus Ashley Fine Art Gallery coaxes all and sundry for an afternoon of Eric Christensen art appreciation. These hyper-realistic paintings are an escapade one can take home or hang on the walls of old-world taverns, spa resorts, and five-star hotels.
Flavorable Outlook is one such piece, a watercolor interpretation of California’s Mayacamas Mountain Range which majestically rises between the Napa and Sonoma counties. Christensen renders the late afternoon mist in striking detail, making it a perfect backdrop for a picnic table where the valley’s bounty awaits. A bottle of chardonnay has been uncorked and poured into a long-stemmed wine glass.
Pears and green grapes sit contentedly in a wooden bowl while a loaf of freshly baked bread takes its rightful place on a wooden board. Potted acorn seedlings adorn the table setting, reflected through the clear chalice and on the translucent bottle by the artist’s signature multilayered style.
