A note from the artist-
THE KING is a mixture of several lions. I have great photos of zoo-kept lions. Their demeanor as well as actual physical appearance is totally different than one in the wild.
I am lucky enough to have friends who lend me their photos from their African trips, until I get there to get my own. What I really wanted was a mature regal being, not mean, just strong in his wisdom. I think I accomplished that.
