A note from the artist-
I love unexpected discoveries. This female Cougar was one of those. She was a resident at Turpentine Creek, a tiny Animal Sanctuary in Arkansas. I was visiting a Gallery carrying my work in Eureka Springs when I found out about it and dropped in to visit. It was mating season and her boyfriend had just paid her a courtship visit. This explains the wet area around her neck. Seems they get a bit carried away in the heat of the moment and the neck must be an erogenous zone for them! I left it in instead of making the animal “perfect” and too good to be true. You can see in her eye that she was a bit leery of my and my camera clicking.
