A note from the artist-
I gave this piece that name because he, indeed, had just risen from a nap because our PH had thrown a rock near him to get him out of the grass. We got in a lot of trouble from the Kruger Park guides because they got out of the car to throw it. Could have been a $2500 fine and banned from the park but our PH told them that the crazy Americans asked him to do it. They didn’t know he actually threw a rock. We got him a sling shot as a going away present, so he could do it from inside the car next time. It was well worth the effort. Some wonderful shots that have been great paintings.
