A note from the artist:
Monhegan Island, Maine, is known for its rugged coastline and untamed beauty. Andrew and James Wyeth were among many artists drawn here over the course of the last century. Perhaps attracted by its isolation and a sense of peace, this is where artists feel free. Each year when I come here I make a point of visiting the spot where this old boat still sits, adrift in the sea of green bleached a bit more by the sun and the weather, but unbeaten. Like two friends who don’t need many words we share a few minutes together and then go on, on our separate voyages through life and time….
