The Marcus Ashley Gallery is no stranger to the majestic views of the outdoors. It is, after all, a distinct presence in Lake Tahoe’s art scene, overlooking the tranquil Sierras. Perhaps this is why our fine art gallery is a suitable location for artworks by 2Wild, a collaborative art collection by the siblings Miri and Barak Rozenvain. The artists are partial to animals, sports, and natural landscapes that come alive through mixed media.
Miri Rozenvain art is known for attention to detail and eye-catching paint drips and splatters. On the other hand, her brother Barak enhances texture through various means such as grains of sand and magazine clippings. As a result, the siblings create art that takes the viewer into a world caught in between abstraction and figuration.
Freedom Ahead is an ode to the great outdoors, focusing on a man and his horse charging towards an unseen destination. The vibrant paint smears and deliberate brushstrokes are enhanced by the intriguing texture of magazine and newspaper clippings. Freedom Ahead tells the story of inspiration and motivation. The neutral colors of the horse combined with the bright colors of the wind tell the story of a man grounded in his beliefs yet not afraid to explore what the future holds.
