Waiting For The World To Change

A note from Sally-

Oh my, so much going on here. This piece was originally done almost 15 years ago and seem so current at almost any time. I happen to love that particular song and the thoughts it can generate. So often music inspires me to try to get the feeling using two dimensions. His particular photo came from a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago with my grandchildren. We had them there because I was writing a “how to” book for Ampersand, The manufacturers of Scratchbord. It was to feature Zoo Animals and I was using the kids as background photos with some animals. When we got to the primates, most were inside behind foggy thick plexiglass enclosures. Soon this old Silverback went outside. So did I and was able to position my tripod and camera lens through the awful Chain link fence. He was contemplating something in his hand as I snapped a series of photos. The noise evidently irritated him, so he reared back and threw what he had in his hand right at me! Well, we checked out what it was, and it WAS poop. Obviously, I changed it to the globe…….
