It’s getting late in the afternoon as you gaze out over the tidy rows of rich green leaves. For as far as the eye can see, planted vines form perfect parallel lines broken only by the occasional puffy processions of lavender, whose duty it is to guard the borders. Summer’s early bounty of tree-picked cherries and first crop strawberries will mingle well with a fresh and creamy brie cheese. A special glass of Bordeaux Blend accompanied by the promise of a warm and relaxed evening inspires a raised glass and toast: “Salute to Summer”!
