A note from the artist-
Ah well, this is another in my “Monkey Business” series. It all started when my son’s mother-in-law remodeled her kitchen and wanted a piece of mine for the area between their media room/bar and the kitchen. They had new black granite countertops and a backsplash of glass mosaic tile that was metalicised. I designed Molly’s Martini Monkey for them, because Molly, their daughter, loved martinis. I could not stop there. This piece honors my own daughter, Megan. She doesn’t like Margaritas so much anymore, enjoys Champagne. She had a run in with them the night of my bachelorette party and said she was “never, never, never getting married”. So far it’s been 3 times in 20 years for her!
It’s all in fun, we can each probably relate to one of my monkey characters at one time or another and laugh.
