A note from the artist-
Again, prior to my adventurous side emerging and taking myself to Yellowstone National Park, I drove to “Drive through Zoos”. This pair lives outside of San Antonio just like many African Exotics do. They were part of a small herd that exhibited the same natural tendencies I was going to discover later in my life when I finally visited the National Parks. They love to stand in or walk in the roads made for human transportation. In the parks, we call them “Bison Blocks” instead of “Roadblocks”. As long as they were going to do this to me, there were no other vehicles behind me wanting to get through, I pulled sideways, used my window as a tripod and just shot away. This particular image was chosen because the two just seemed to merge together. “United We Stand” was an apt title because it was done during the time, we found out my spouse had cancer and were deciding what course of action to take. Artists cannot help but to reflect what is going on within their own lives. If they do not, they are just “Illustrators”.
