A note from the artist-
On the square in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico I spotted these sweet donkeys. In actuality, the older one was in the lead with his back stacked high with goods for the market, and the young one was on a rope tied to his halter rope, following behind. I felt it was a training measure meant to accustom the younger one to the crowds and noise before putting anything on its back. Funny how I always gravitate to the animals in the areas I visit, even though the buildings and culture were so wonderful there.
