A note from the Artist-
On the very first trip to South Africa, we were surrounded by a huge breeding herd of Cape Buffalo inside Kruger park. Our van with photographers had separated from the guides van and we were attempting to rejoin the others on the safari. What a pleasure to turn the curve and see close to 50 of there monsters. They did not look so monsterish with their babies and the Mamas around, some sleeping and some cuddling up. These two “Big Bosses” stood up and came towards us as if to say “keep your distance and we will leave you alone”. Like the linebackers on a football team or the Gang bosses in the hoods, they are the first line of defense. We go some marvelous interaction photos during this mistake moment. It always seems to happen that way.
