When Hurricane Wilma sat over Cancun for 3 days, my oldest daughter and he husband had just made the final payment on a condo there one week earlier. No Insurance. At least the building owner had insurance and since the damage was because all the windows were blown out, he had to pay. The problem was, everyone in Cancun had damage, so it took forever to get glass for the windows, elevators for the buildings and furniture for the completed units. What a nightmare. My son-in-law decided to use the timeframe to remodel his unit, a penthouse. It is one of the most beautiful ones on the beach now, but took a year and a half, not 3 months as everyone thought. When my daughter and my husband and I went down to check on the place before moving furnishings in from the container we had shipped, the Aquarium had reopened, finally, since they has removed all of the creatures to safer ground just before the storm. We had witnessed the egg laying ritual the night before, beneath our balcony, and fell in love with the sea turtles. These three are us… playing in Cancun.
