“I am a very shy and private person. I enjoy my time in my studio doing what I love.” – Mario Jung
Nights are abuzz at Lake Tahoe with a myriad of both calm and boisterous activities. Beaches, firepits, theaters, casinos, and nightclubs offer entertainment suited to individual tastes. Before heading to your destination, drop by Marcus Ashley Fine Art Gallery for a visual treat from the evening series of Mario Jung paintings. The South Korean artist’s photorealistic pieces are sought after by hotel and resort owners for the elegant cheer they impart to guests.
Light Up the Night is the artist’s nighttime version of his iconic umbrella pine tree in a field of greens. Under the blanket of a dark sky, Jung’s bright hues assert their dazzling presence. The enveloping white fog throws up a beautiful contrast against the golden hues of the majestic tree. The distant horizon in butter yellow signifies the end of another day, setting the stage for the night to take over as countless twinkling stars dot the night sky. Meanwhile, rows of plants in moss green alternate with columns of brown earth, both leading to the shores of a sapphire sea. The artist’s trademark rich textures and heartfelt brushwork transform the scenery into a lyrical landscape.
