“Remembering Peter Max” was inspired by the art work of Peter Max. I didn’t build the piece with this in mind, but as the colors emerged, I was reminded of the colors of that poster. In the late 60’s, if you walked into most any college dorm, you would likely find Peter Max posters. His art, mostly posters in the late 60s, was very popular with young people. As I completed this piece, because of all the pastel colors, I was reminded of one such poster that hung on my bedroom wall (around 1968-69) – hence the title. The material is all figured maple that I stabilized with Cactus Juice resin and dyes.
