“What might seem to one person as just a simple bump in the road of life, can to another appear as their own personal, insurmountable Everest. I believe these challenges are sent to confront us for a reason. They stretch us, at times further than we thought possible, so that we can grow and realize our ultimate potential as human beings.” – Mackenzie Thorpe

In this limited edition print for sale, Mackenzie Thorpe illustrates two figures standing together with their arms around each other, looking into the distance. They both have a bicycle and seem ready to tackle any challenges, as long as they can work together. The ground is freshly coated in snow, contrasting with the figure’s simple black suits. The sky is a stunning blue-grey with just a few clouds on the horizon, as if the sun is trying to come through just after a snow storm.

The figures are intentionally blank as Thorpe wants the viewers to picture themselves standing together, perhaps with their best friend, looking out over the landscape. The hills in the distance represent the bumps and challenges in the road that life throws at us. These figures are either ready to tackle the twists and turns together or they are celebrating that they just made it through these obstacles. Either way, we can grow closer to our fellow humans as we make our way through this journey together.

The gorgeous scenery in this Mackenzie Thorpe artwork is not dissimilar to something you may see when visiting our South Lake Tahoe Gallery. Marcus Ashley Gallery is one of Lake Tahoe’s premier fine art galleries. Along with several Mackenzie Thorpe artworks for sale, the gallery exhibits 40+ of the most iconic artists of our time.
