It reveals Christensen’s incomparable talent at composing reflections. In the artist’s own words, “The two things I am most often asked about are reflections and how I paint glass. I always paint the wine in the glass first. The upper part of the glass must wait until the background has been established. As I paint each background element through the glass, I take into account this distortion created by the curvature of the glass, the highlights which must be left white, and the subtle, and the shadowing being reflected by the other objects in the painting.” Truly one-of-a-kind!
