“I remember driving through this landscape which in front of my eyes was turning from Fall to Winter. There was nobody there, and the roads were empty. As if in slow motion, the first snow settled on the fields and the trees.” – Alexander Volkov
The Marcus Ashley Gallery creates an experience for its customers that remains with them long after they’ve visited. For over 18 years, the patrons have combined hundreds of years’ worth of expertise into one colossal space. Part of the gallery’s rich collection of famous works includes Alexander Volkov art.
Volkov studied science and the intricate nature of light as a physics student at Leningrad State University. Combining that knowledge with art has given him a strong advantage in his craft. His eye for detail, precise brushstrokes, and poised approach in creating true-to-life art have made him extremely popular among art lovers.
Early Snowfall is a perfect example of the artist’s innate ability to portray the play of light and shadows. Volkov paints a robust tree that stands tall and proud as its leaves quiver at the first signs of snow.
A patchwork of snow and fallen foliage populate the patch of field. The artist beautifully captures this seasonal shift from fall to winter with delicate brushwork and a palette of pale yellow.
The transitional nature of seasons has always captivated Volkov and is a recurring theme in his work. Early Snowfall will permeate a warm ambiance in a restaurant, cafe, apartment, or lounge.
Early Snowfall and other works of Volkov are available at the Marcus Ashley Gallery.
