In Tree House In Autumn, Gonsalves shows the marvels created by nature when the leaves begin to change and the earth prepares for the coming winter. Here, we see a family readying their home for a harsher season: re-painting the rooms, mending the walls, sweeping the front steps. From one view, this beautiful family home sits solidly on the edge of a driveway, flanked by sidewalks and surrounded by a large yard. From another perspective, the home appears to be perched high in the branches of an oak tree, a long rope ladder completing the illusion and leaving the viewer suspended in animation.
